I always had a soft spot for the 57 -59 Rancheros, this one is
serving push car duty for that tasty looking Fuller-built vintage dragster.
Kent Fuller was the featured dude of the event.
Ok, lets see what we got here. A 23 bucket, a 32 grill shell, 40's
steels, an early monkey motion V8 with
twin carb manifold, and a drilled 37 tube axle on a suicide perch.
That'll be a Hot Rod then.
Nice 32 sporting a very impressive air cleaner on that flatmotor.
Looking cartoon-like, this 32 is chopped and channelled, has a
blown hemi and zoomie headers.
Sort of prostreet with a sixties flavour with those 12 spokes up
front.
Vintage racecar anyone? This baby's up for grabs. Has a twin carb
4 banger and nice wires. ( no front brakes either by the look of it!)
Look, if you dont know why Jakes tub is covered with old magazine
pages, I'm sorry but I aint telling.
Impressive lineup of Willys', all pro street or gasser style.
Pickup goes the whole hog with wheelie bars and wing.
Story goes that the nacelles below the headlights were inspired
by the wartime lockheed P38 Lightning fighter plane.
Harley Earl used aeronautical styling cues on other GM cars, like
the first tail fins on the Caddys of the era.
Save this pic and when you want to build a car, dig it out and
try to copy it.
Not the best location for the perfect photograph. Dave snapped
this straight stockish Chev outside the bogs.
Oooh. Nice!
57 chev truck. Lowered, over wide whites. Cool.
Novel grille treatment on this 34 sedan delivery. Seems to have
later bumpers too. Can anyone identify?
Yes! had a couple of responses on the bumper, 41 passenger car
apparrently. Thanks guys.
Unfinished 39 ragtop and flamed shoebox soaking up the sun. (Outside
the bogs)
Rough 'n' ready Gow job. (By the bogs again. Dave, were you having
a bit of tummy trouble?
You seem to be hanging around the shithouses all day!)
The frame on this lowster must have an enormous kickup at the front,
It cant be channelled that much. (can it?)
Tony Nancy's immaculate 22jr A-bone. Another Fuller-built car.
Unchopped, full fendered, but LOW 5 window 32.
Oh shit! theres another early Ranchero again. I want one!, no,
I NEED one!
Dont reckon Willys sold many cars on their looks. They do make
the meanest gassers though!
Jayzus Christ in a dumptruck! I bet this Mutha hauls!
Ah yes! The era of the altered wheelbase. From the days when the
best way to get traction was to raise the centre of gravity for maximum
weight transfer, this Chevy II is a flashback to a simpler time.
Dave, if you carry on sending pics from all the cool shows you
go to, I'll start getting jealous!...Mart.
