I was in the states when the UK Nationals took place, but Koops was there, camera at the ready.
So here we go, All pics by Koops, captioned by his own fevered imagination.

I just love the look of this car. Just add some wind slicin’ door handles an’ a well trimmed rag top and it’d be perfect. Using Ford Pilot components predominantly, the pressed steel wheels give such a distinctive look. Looks as if that spreader bar’s been tow bar nudgin’!
Home cut dash panel with typically British minimal gauge accompaniment. This’s probably ‘cos high speed vintage ‘clocks’ from the ‘30’s & ‘40’s, in Brit cars, tend to belong to expensive sports cars. Expensive vintage gauges are thus, an inevitable proposition. Sometimes repro. items can look  too sanitised when the particular rod is a touch ‘raw’. I’ve spied some cool gauges in a ‘50’s Lancia coupe. It’s speedo read 150 mph and was nearly 5" in diameter! I just love big speedos.
The bandana hides an ‘empty’steering hub. This is a consequence of losing the Bakelite switch and horn gear found on the original donor car. Wiring to power these switches would run through the centre of the steering shaft. ‘Course this’d be difficult to re-employ.
" Hey bud. If you want a really cool, polished alloy ‘cap’ spinning up for this ‘wheel, get in touch. I know a guy who’ll spin off such a piece for around £25 plus postage."
Pilot Eng.: Straight outta venerable Ford Pilot and by the looks of it, pretty much ‘bog’ standard. Single carb., cast iron 21 stud heads, iron exhaust manifolds. Standard it maybe, but looks mighty fine to me. I’d like to think the ‘Joe’ that run’s this ‘Job’ is gonna pep it some. "Hey Mart. He might even square up to your ’34 in the ‘Melt Down!’"

Jerry Wilkinson’s steel bodied ‘Classic’ (oh yes!), ’29 on ’32, AV-8 Gow Job is what yer feastin’ yer peepers on here folks. With a ’32 commercial grill and a Tri-carbed 24 ‘studder’ transplanted from Danny Townsend’s Coupe it comes with a useable Mercury 3:54 rear axle. Me? I think all rods should be built this way.
A selection of the 9 (!) S-W gauges can be seen peeping over Jerry’s door here. The use of Chevy tail lamps makes a change. With neat ‘cool’ blue ’35 wire wheels an’ a complementary ‘Rod Benders’ plaque, I’d consider this rod just about prefect. Well, damn near.
A close up on Jerry Wilkinson’s Flat V8. Fenton heads. Fenton Ex. Manifolds. Navarro Induct. Manifold. Tri 97’s. Sweet.

‘nuther piccy of this tasty ’27 Hot Rod. It’s Rover V8 ‘Dog’ powered with a 5-speed gearbox.. Carb’s a Holley. That’s a popular swap for Brit Rodders. Usually Rovers come equipped with twin, mid mounted carburettors ( SU’s predominantly, sometimes Zeniths). Later, ‘high-tecky’ Rovers where equipped with fuel injection systems. Jamie the T’s owner told me he wasn’t too happy with his Holley, but I guess it weren’t too bad as his round trip from Wales to the show must have been near 400 miles

My guess is the running line on this car is genuine T. That’s a home cooked cowl/floor/seat an’ deck affair though. Would’ve made a neat speedster, me thinks. Yeh!?
